Pride Network - Organizing & Outreach
The Iowa Pride Network
is dedicated to helping Iowa's LGBT students build successful
futures. We help fulfill this mission by providing a number of
organizing and outreach initiatives to help Iowa high school and
college students and LGBT Organizations.
Direct Organizing, Outreach
and Support
The Iowa Pride Network works directly with LGBT students and GSA’s
throughout the state. Iowa Pride Network volunteers and staff
can travel to your high school or town and meet with you and your
group to develop ideas and goals for you organization.
College Coalition
The Iowa Pride Network College
Coalition brings Iowa's college and university LGBT groups together
to strengthen LGBT Organizations, work on coordinated activities
across the state in order to show community and solidarity, and
provide a voice for the over 18,000 LGBT college students in the
state of Iowa. If you or your college LGBT group would like to
join the Coalition, register with the Iowa Pride Network and RSVP
for the next College Coalition Meeting. Meetings are held throughout
the year on various campuses throughout the state.
Regional GSA Coalitions
In a rural state like Iowa, networking is vital to reducing the
isolation that many LGBT students face. That is why the Iowa Pride
Network Regional GSA Coalitions brings Iowa's high school GSA’s
together to work on coordinated activities across the state in
order to show community and solidarity, and provide a voice for
the over 15,000 LGBT high school students in the state of Iowa.
In addition, these meetings provide an opportunity for students
and groups to come together to share best practices, exchange
ideas and network. This year, over 30 regional meeting will be
held throughout the state.
