Is Your College/University LGBT-friendly?
The following points can help you determine if your college is LGBT friendly. By reviewing whether or not your college has policies protecting you or institutional supports designed to help you and peers succeed, can help you better assess the difficulty of living on campus, starting a LGBT Center or LGBT student club.

• LGBT and diversity efforts receive funding
• Support from President’s office
• LGBT Community involved and asked to serve on committees
• Domestic Partner Benefits
• LGBT Faculty who are out and tenured
• There is a LGBT staff-faculty association
• Your campus has an LGBT Resource Center, or a staff person that is dedicated to LGBT student issues and concerns
• Your campus has a non-discrimination and anti-harassment policy that includes sexual orientation and gender identity
• Your college or university had an LGBT Alumni Association
• Your campus has LGBT Studies
• Your campus has floors dedicated to LGBT students and those that are studying LGBT issues
• Your campus acts swiftly to combat homophobia
• All RA’s are trained in dealing with LGBT issues and how to combat homophobia
