The Iowa Pride Network is dedicated to helping Iowa's LGBT students build successful futures. We help fulfill this mission by providing Resources and Support to help Iowa college and high school students and organizations succeed.

Grant Programs - High School Grant Application (PDF) | College University Grant Application (PDF)
The Iowa Pride Network provides funds (between $50-$250) to high school and college GSA’s to encourage their school-based activities such as:

• Co-sponsoring a community service project with another student organization(s) that helps other members of the community -- elderly, educators, homeless, food pantries.
• Host a regional get-together with other LGBTQA student groups from the area, inviting speakers to talk about issues facing LGBTQA people.
• Meetings with high school/college administrators, city counselors, or public officials to discuss the importance of adding sexual orientation and gender identity to non-discrimination and anti-harassment policies and in city ordinances and state codes.

Sponsorships
The Iowa Pride Network sponsors conferences and events that help LGBT groups raise awareness of diversity and LGBT issues on their campuses and in their communities such as the annual Queer Iowa Student Conference (QISC); The Governor’s Conference on LGBT Youth; and the Midwest, Bisexual, Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, and Allied College Conference (MBLGTACC).

Iowa Pride Network Award - Application (PDF)
The Iowa Pride Network Awards are designed to recognize and honor Iowa?s best middle school and/or high school Gay-Straight Alliance and college and/or university LGBT group. The awards go to LGBT student organizations that have shown a committed effort to raise awareness of LGBT issues on their campus and in their communities; and have pioneered programs that have increased the respect for LGBT people.

The Iowa Pride Network Award winners will be recognized at the Iowa Pride Network?s Spring Soirée Honors Ceremony in Des Moines, Iowa late April 2010, date TBD. Applicant?s student leaders/advisor(s) must be able to attend the official ceremony in April. Please refer to Criteria for Nomination and Selection below.

Co-Sponsors of the Matthew Shepard Scholarship
Since the Iowa Pride Network helps students identify educational opportunities, and because we work directly with students across the state, we have become a co-sponsor of the Matthew Shepard Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to openly gay and lesbian Iowa high school seniors, who have distinguished themselves in their schools and communities.
