Gay-Straight Alliances and Register Your GSA
A Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) is a student-run club, which
provides a safe place for students to meet, support each
other, talk about issues related to sexual orientation,
and work to end homophobia. Many GSA's function as a support
group and provide safety and confidentiality to students
who are struggling with their identity as gay, lesbian,
bisexual, transgender, or questioning. Some
GSA's work on educating themselves and the broader school
community about sexual orientation and gender identity issues. |

Network
with Regional GSA and College Coalitions
The Iowa Pride Network
Regional GSA Coalitions brings Iowa's high school GSA’s
together to work on coordinated activities across the state in
order to show community and solidarity, and provide a voice for
the over 15,000 LGBT high school students in the state of Iowa.
If you or your GSA would like to join a Regional Coalition, register
with the Iowa Pride Network and RSVP for the next meeting. Meetings
are held throughout the year. Visit the Calendar to find out when
and where the next meeting will be held.
